Just a reminder that our fight is not over if the CW suddenly grows a heart (or a brain) and decides to acknowledge all that they’ve done wrong and make a sincere, full-hearted apology. Our fight is not over if Jason gets fired. Our fight is not over if they bring lexa back. Our fight is over when we finally, finally have good representation, that remains good representation. Our fight is over when we have enough good representation to no live in longer fear that every lesbian or bi character we come across will end in tragedy. Our fight is over when bulletproof vests and stray bullet jokes become a thing of the past, and hope, if it ever appears, stops feeling like such a terrible mistake.
Our fight will not be short, and victory will not be immediate. This is going to take time. It will be hard and, probably, disheartening at many points. But it is necessary and it will be worth it.
If Jason gets fired, it will not mean that we have won. It will be terrific, and deserved, but it will be winning a battle, not the war. If Jason getting fired is all we achieve out of this movement then it will not be winning. it will be a consolation prize.
