Graeme Manson is the co-creator of BBC America’s Orphan Black. When season 3 of Orphan Black premiered on 18 April 2015, there were legit concerns about the future of the show’s f/f ship Cophine (Cosima x Delphine) since Delphine breaks up with Cosima in episode 1 of season 3.
On 19 April 2015 Manson tweeted, explicitly stating, that Cophine is even more of a thing at the end of the season. Bear in mind that the show had already finished filming on 14 March 2015. This means that the season finale had already been shot and he knew, with absolute clarity, that Delphine had fallen victim to his “bold story choice” of getting shot in a parking lot. A story choice that is really just an over-used, harmful and appalling trope where creators of mainstream media kill queer women (bullets are usually involved) for shock value.
Cophine brings in a lot of queer fans for the show. We form a huge chunk of the viewers and Manson knew that if we didn’t continue to contribute to the viewership throughout S3, they would never get a S4. We stuck with the show and put our faith in this man.
In the end, the show was renewed for season 4, Delphine was shot in a parking lot and our worst fears came true. The show sent out a clear message with its “bold story choice”: That’s all you’ll ever be- a bold story choice, replaceable, unworthy of a happy ending.

I love how Alycia’s American accents and even the tone/timbre of her voice are just so strikingly different when she’s Lexa and Alicia. The girl does a damn good job of differentiating things and I don’t think I’ll ever run out of things to compliment her on.
