My thoughts are that I just wish we didn’t live in a world where a girl has to be physically mutilated in order to feel safe from rape and harassment. 

I’ve always found it odd that something like rape, which is done to a person without their consent, somehow brings shame to the family? Like a bad thing happening to you isn’t shameful what the hell.
Guess that says something about where the blame for rape is placed. This is so sad.
