Ok bare with me. I’m gonna go on a rant that only maybe drummers would understand. I see pics of this constantly and I’ve seen in it real life through my travels. The ‘drummers’ who somehow manage to acquire their dream kit. They blow all their money on top of the line everything. Only the one thing they forget is cymbals.
No cymbals do not come with the kit. If you’re buying from the dealer, hell no. No kit ever does. The costs of cymbals alone can easily rack up a few thousand dollars.
So here you have drummers with badass fucking $6000 John Bonham reissue Ludwig Amber Vistalites, yet they can’t afford cymbals at all. It irks me.
Drummers, be smart with your money. For me I’ve always bought cymbals used. Half the price of the retail and still the same quality. I have a dealer I use, and they carry the largest collection of used cymbals I’ve ever seen. They are so reliable too. I swear by used cymbals. But not hats. Hats have to be brand new for me.
